The "Casa dos Pulidos" is a
small family business that offers the opportunity to integrate for a
few days into the life of a small rural village of Ourense. The apartments are authentic town
houses, renovated following the typical design of the rural houses of
the region of Celanova.
Another difference with other
businesses; Is that we do not give the breakfast included, we prefer
to give a good detail to our customers with seasonal products
produced on our farms.
The holiday
apartments "Casa dos Pulidos" are located in the village
Olás de Vilariño, in the Municipality of A Merca, in the province
of Ourense. Surrounded by crops and extensive oak forests, in the
Arnoia river valley.
The stone
house where the Casa dos Pulidos Apartments are located, is totally
restored and was built eighty years ago. The house was divided into
three rooms and restored in three apartments.
The garden
and garden, with meadow of about 150 square meters, swimming pool for
children, table, chairs, hammock and barbecue, is across the access
road to the apartments.
We carry out
the traditional agricultural activities of Galicia: viticulture,
vinegar, spirits, liqueurs, varied horticultural crops and extensive
crops in dry land. We also raise chickens and chickens for fattening.

"CASA DOS PULIDOS"
1. Price. In the price
of the apartments are included these complementary services:
1. Free use
of the garden, garden furniture and barbecue.
2. Cleaning
set: kitchen cloth, scouring pad, washcloth, dishwasher, 1 roll of
kitchen paper. Washing machine.
3. Toilet
set: 1 roll of toilet paper, hand soap, shampoo and gel.
4.
Information and tourist documentation of the area.
5.
Electricity, gas and domestic hot water.
6. Linen
and towels.
7. Fully
equipped kitchen: cutlery, plates, glasses, pans, pans, fridge,
coffee maker.
8. Dining
room with TV, table and chairs ..
2. Use of
accommodation. The client is responsible for making the correct
statement of the number of people to occupy the apartment, without
omitting the children. The administration of the apartments can
legally refuse to admit the entry of those undeclared persons.
3. Behavior.
The client and his companions must behave in a civic way and
respecting the general rules of coexistence. Any activity that
disturbs the normal coexistence of the community in which the
accommodation is located, such as loud music, noises or parties, and
that provokes the well-founded complaints of the neighbors, will be
reason to immediately vacate the accommodation.
The hours of
rest are from 00:00 to 08:00, being strictly prohibited, during those
periods, any type of activity that disturb in any way the rest.
4. Material
years. The client is obliged to take care of the furnished apartment,
being of its charge the deteriorations or losses that occur in the
same.
Apartamentos
Turísticos Casa dos Pulidos are not responsible for the personal
effects of the client or his companions.
5. Inputs
and Outputs. Check in time at the apartments is from 3 pm. Of the day
of arrival must be vacated the rooms before 12.00 h. Of the day of
departure, when it is not abandoned at 12:00 the accommodation will
be understood to prolong the stay one more day.
6.
Unemployment of. The unemployment of apartments failure by customers
to comply with any of the prohibitions established in this regulation
will entitle the Company to terminate the contract. The owner of the
establishment may seek the help of agents of the authority to evict
users who fail to comply with the internal regulations or who intend
to access or remain in them for a purpose other than the normal use
of the service, in accordance with With the provisions of the Tourism
Law
7.
Prohibitions. It is forbidden for clients to:
a)
Introduce furniture in the accommodation or carry out repairs or work
on it, however small, without written authorization from the Company.
B) To
accommodate more people than those corresponding to the maximum
capacity fixed to the accommodation.
C) To carry
out the accommodation activity in the accommodation or to destine it
for purposes other than those for which it has been contracted.
D)
Introduce explosive or inflammable substances or substances or
substances that may cause damage or discomfort to other occupants of
the building.
E) Perform
any activity that violates the usual norms of coexistence or the
normal operating regime.
8.
Obligations of the users of the Tourist Apartments.

D) In

client at the time of occupancy of the apartments.
9. Cleaning
of the apartment The apartment will be delivered clean and tidy. The
client agrees to respect the order and cleanliness of the apartment,
as well as deliver it in the same conditions in which it was
delivered. Make sure to empty the trash, leave the dishes clean and
empty the refrigerator on the day of departure, etc. If this standard
is not met, the customer will be charged the amount of € 30 for
cleaning.

1. TOURIST POSSIBILITIES OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF A
MERCA.
The
tourist apartments "Casa dos Pulidos" are located in Ólas
de Vilariño, in the municipality of A Merca, in the region of
"Terras de Celanova". With great potential in cultural
tourism due to its rich historical and Artistic, centered in the
Monastery of San Salvador de Celanova and on the other hand, in the
green tourism since it has landscapes of great natural interest,
being located part of this region (municipalities of Verea and
Quintela de Leirado) in the Natura 2000 network And the Natural Park
Baixa Limia- Serra do Xurés, besides being drained by several river
basins (Arnoia River, Deva and Minho). At the same time you can enjoy
active tourism and outdoor sports: hiking, cycling, horse riding,
super-cross circuit, fishing in rivers and hunting in the mountains.
The Casa
dos Pulidos is in an eminently rural municipality, which has
population centers in which the traditional Galician architecture is
preserved; houses of village, large houses and rectorals of
patrimonial interest. There are also abundant samples of traditional
architecture: granaries (called "horreos" or "canastros"),
stone cross "cruceiros", wayside shrine (petos de ánimas),
dovecotes. There are vestiges of megalith (dolmens on Mount San
Cibrao) and Celtic culture, such as the castro of the mount of A
Raxada (near the village of Ólas), as well as important examples of
Romanesque Church of San Pedro de A Mezquita.
The
municipality of A Merca is drained by the Arnoia river from West to
East and joins with the father Miño in the municipality of the same
name. Throughout its course there are mills and fishing areas, it has
a great natural and scenic interest in conserving the native
vegetation, composed of oaks, birches, alders and chestnut groves.
There are also samples of Popular architecture that traces its route:
water mills, small stone bridges (denominated in the area "poldras")
and an beautifull abandoned village, A Ponte Hermida.
Mount San
Cibrao is located to the south of the municipality and it´s a
granite hill with rounded forms and with about 1000 m.s.n.m. In its
summit there are two dolmens, anthropomorphic tombs excavated in the
stone and a chapel in honor of San Cibrao, where a popular pilgrimage
is celebrated. This mountain enjoys wide panoramic views of the
region of Celanova and the plain of A Limia. In the surroundings of
this mountain are conserved interesting samples of native vegetation
forming a landscape very characteristic of this zone.

TOURISM IN THE CELANOVA LAND REGION.
The rich
historical past of these lands and the uniqueness of their landscapes
contribute to make the land of Celanova a very attractive region for
green tourism and cultural tourism.
In the
heart of the region, in the town of Celanova, is its most emblematic
monument, the Monastery of San Salvador de Celanova, which is one of
the most beautiful examples of Galician baroque, although its origins
go back to the tenth century. Consists of the abbey church built in
the sixteenth century under the direction of Melchor de Velasco, two
large cloisters and monastic dependencies. Inside there are rich
retablos of great baroque, as well as two choirs of delicate ashlar
masonry and a monumental dome. In the garden is the Mozarabic chapel
of San Miguel, a jewel of architecture and the only vestige of its
initial foundation. The facade of the church, today a parish, offers
a lavish decoration with huge Corinthian columns, pilasters, broken
pediments, which serve as a frame for the Plaza Mayor and the
ensemble of emblazoned houses that constitute the old part of the
town.
In the
municipality of Ramirás the church of another important monastery is
conserved, located in the highlands of Mosteiro, that dominate the
valley of the Arnoia. Of sober Romanesque style, the church has a
triple apse headboard, decorated with Lombard bands, a rosette on the
facade illuminates the central nave and the side facades have a
richer ornamentation of clear Gothic influence.
As an
interesting example of the Romanesque, is the church of San Pedro de
A Mezquita, declared a National Monument in 1931. This church located
in the municipality of A Merca stands out for its ornamental richness
and because according to tradition is built on an ancient Arab
Mosque. In its environs are preserved anthropomorphic sepulchres and
a beautiful stone cross "cruceiro" of fluted shaft.
Within the
military architecture, it is worth mentioning in the town of Vilanova
dos Infantes, the 14th century Homenaje Tower, the only remaining
part of the old fortress, which is part of the old town and which
retains its medieval structure.
As examples
of the traditional architecture, it is necessary to point out the
beautiful and picturesque set of granaries located in Santa Maria da
Merca, various banks of souls scattered throughout the region,
highlighting the giant coat of Santa Eufemia, as well as the stone
cross and picturesque villages such as: Bangueses, Xacebáns in the
municipalities of Quintela de Leirado, in the Sierra del Leboreiro
(Natural Park Baixa Limia- Serra do Xurés).
Natural
resources.
Casa dos
Pulidos is located in the territory of the municipality of A Merca,
nestled in a north facing slope that falls to the river Arnoia and
that has a great extension of native vegetation. For lovers of nature
and the practice of outdoor activities, the south western sector of
the region offers an incomparable setting formed by the Sierra
Leboreiro and Aguillón, where you can go hiking, fishing and
hunting. The region is full of landscapes and recreational areas of
interest around the many rivers that surround it, such as the area of
Fontelo, Ponte Freixo, Monte da Cruz or A Pontegrande, in the
municipality of Celanova. Area of Fondas in Nigueiroá (Verea),
recreational area of A Pontenova in the river park of the
Arnoia River between Cartelle and Ramiras, or those of A Bandexa and
A Frieira in Padrenda. From all of them can be made hiking trails
following the old fishing path.
The megalithic remains of the region deserve special
mention: the Mora Grande dolmen in Verea has interesting paintings
and engravings in its interior, this type of archaeological remains
are very common throughout the area (Monte San Cibrao, Sierra del Val
in Gomesende, Serra da Moura in Ramiras), petroglyphs of Freixo, etc.
Of the
remains of the Celtic culture stands out the archaeological site of
Castromao, in Celanova, excellent natural lookout over the region.
Gastronomy is another point of interest in the region, where it is typical the cooked meat "carne o caldeiro", as well as the stew and the pig paddle with turnip greens "lacón con grelos", the cod and as dessert a spout, fried milk, etc. All accompanied by wine of the region and the rich liquors that are produced in these lands.

Casa dos
Pulidos is located halfway between the region of Celanova and that of
Allariz, as it is only 10 km from this medieval town and its
ethnographic park of the river Arnoia as it passes through the town.
In Allariz you can enjoy traditional architecture, handicrafts,
ethnography (leather museum, hydraulic mills), of its nature and
practice various sports (fishing, horse riding, hiking).

THERMALISM
Ourense is
the second thermal city of Europe and on the banks of the Miño river
are the thermal springs,
without
forgetting the thermal pool of "As Burgas" in the center of
the city.
But there are also in other localities of
the province, such as the Prexigueiro thermal baths near Ribadavia,
the hot springs of Porto Quintela, in the municipality of Bande and
Cenlle pools.

Spring of
"O Tinteiro"
Source of
hot springs, for public use and free. This spring attracts persons of
all the peninsula and Portugal. Recommended for skin diseases and
scars. These are fluoridated, sulfurised, sodic and bicarbonated
waters, which flow at a temperature of about 43 °.
Pozas do
Muíño das Veigas
Located in
the area of Quintela de Canedo 500 meters from the spa area of
Outariz. Its waters are of weak mineralization, hyperthermal,
alkaline, fluorinated and silicate. They have a flow rate of 20
liters per second at a temperature between 65 and 72 ºC.

extensive facilities with two circuits of thermal waters: a Zen
circuit formed by a tour of six thermal springs in wood and Oval
stones, following a Japanese aesthetic and calm waters at high
temperatures (39-41 ° C) which is recommended for relaxation and
personal meditation. And another Celtic, who uses a stone hot spring
that simulates the Castros and Dolmenes of the ancient civilizations
that populated Galicia in the past. It is characterized by moving
water from jets, bubbles and waterfalls to eliminate tensions,
muscular contractures. Parallel beauty treatments and local

Located in the center of Ourense a few meters from the enblematic monument of "As Burgas". The water of this spring emanates to more than 60º centigrados, are of average mineralization, alkaline and litínicas, appropriate to take care of the skin and to relax the muscles. In the pool, of more than 200 square meters, it cools to about 38-40º C. Access is free and has locker rooms, lockers and a wet sauna. Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Thermal sources located in other parts of the province:
Prexigueiro
thermal baths.
They are in
the parish of Prexigueiro, in Ribadavia, Ourense. To get from
Ribadavia, you have to go to Francelos on the OUR-401 road, parallel
to the course of the Miño river and in Prexigueiro, turn right
following the indications. This spa is located in an idyllic and
spectacular setting, being a Japanese "onsen" thermal
center, where you can enjoy beauty treatments or follow the outdoor
circuit.
Hot
springs of Porto Quintela.
Located
near the national road that connects the town hall of Bande with the
Portuguese border passing by the village called "Os baños".
It consists of a series of conditioned pools and of public use
located in the municipality of Bande, on the banks of the reservoir
of "As Conchas". This reservoir drench them in very rainy
winters. It consists of several springs of hot water, already used by
the Romans, that sprout among the remains of a thermal establishment.
They are used by neighbors of nearby populations, which attribute
properties indicated for rheumatism and skin diseases.
A few
meters away we find the remains of a Roman villa and later a Roman
camp called Aquis Querquennis. By this place it passes the route
XVIII of the Itinerary, that communicated Brácara with Astúrica
Augusta (Braga-Astorga).

They have a free use area formed by a garden area, snack bar and three thermal pools. The water in these pools is warm; about 21 º C and are hypothermal of weak mineralization, bicarbonated, alkaline, sodium, magnesium and chloride, indicated to treat arthritis, rheumatism and skin problems. They are located in the town of Barbantes Estación, are free to use and are operational in summer.

4. TREKKING.
RUCA
CANLE ROUTE.
In 2011 an
employment workshop has cleaned of weeds, signposted and restored,
the stone canal built in the decade of the 30's of the twentieth
century, next to the Arnoia River. This channel, popularly called "A
Canle do Ruca", was built by a neighbor of the municipality of A
Merca with the objective of producing electricity, its project never
came to work and with its rehabilitation is sought its use as a walk
along the riverbank Of the Arnoia River, in order to be declared a
protected area included in the Natura 2000 Network for its riverside
forests in good condition.
The route
is very well signposted and starts in the village of Rubillos in the
Concello de A Merca, following the signs we arrive at the last houses
of the village and there is a good place to park the cars. We start
walking along a wide path until we reach a stream, which we cross,
ascend a narrow and short "corredoira" until we reach
another perpendicular path that we follow to the right. From this
area the unevenness of the route is invaluable, unless we deviate
from the canal, so it is a walk without difficulties.
From the
main route there are small diversions to visit the ruins of two
hydraulic mills and another detour to ascend to a viewpoint from
which covers the entire route of the canal.
RUTA DE
ABROA.
The route
has a length of approximately 13.4 km, is very well signposted and
has its exit and return in the bar Parroira, although to be circular
and as it passes in front of the "Casa dos Pulidos"
apartments can be started from our facilities .
The route
started down to Fontao by "Camiño dos Pequenos", and
following the indications we will pass next to "Carballo do
Ferreiro", a big oak with its own name. The road continues down to
the Arnoia River, in the "Presa do Cholas", where the ruins
of the dam, the mill and the poldra (a narrow stone bridge that
allows the passage of the river) still remain. Continuing down the
road the road ascends to the village, now abandoned "A Ponte
Hermida". There are still ten houses still standing, in this
hidden paradise of rural Galicia, where it is worth to stop and visit
the ruins without haste. The next village we find is "Covas do
Rio", from here the continuous route through the "Camiño
da Fraga", crossing a beautiful native forest.
